Emmie Saux, LCSW
Emmie works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, autism spectrum experiences, chronic illness, and sexual trauma. They are passionate about supporting queer and trans clients and strive to create an affirming therapeutic space where people of all identities can feel safe, respected, and understood.
Emmie uses an eclectic blend of therapeutic approaches, including relational, existential, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Their work is grounded in the belief that therapy should honor the complexity of each person’s identity, lived experience, and relationships. Emmie collaborates with clients to explore not only the challenges they face, but also questions of meaning, values, and how they want to move through the world.
As a neurodivergent therapist, Emmie brings both personal insight and clinical understanding to working with neurodivergent clients. They approach neurodivergence from a strengths-based perspective, focusing on reducing shame, increasing self-understanding, and developing strategies that support clients in building lives that work for their unique brains and bodies.
Whether someone is processing trauma, navigating identity, managing mood challenges, or living with chronic illness, Emmie works collaboratively with clients to foster healing, self-compassion, and a more meaningful and sustainable way of living.
My Story
I began my social work career working with survivors of sexual violence. Often, in the wake of a traumatic experience, the best that I could offer was a calm, grounding presence and a listening ear. I continue to feel honored to be that presence for survivors of all forms of trauma and to be able to validate their experiences, emotions, and struggles. I have worked extensively with survivors of religious trauma, primarily from Christian faiths in the South, and I look forward to supporting folks divesting from the LDS church as I begin to serve clients in Utah.
I provide support for my clients as they aim to meet their goals around improved mental health and coping, healthy relationships with their partners and loved ones, establishing effective communication, and expressing themselves authentically. As a queer and neurodivergent person, I aim to hold space for all of my clients’ identities.
If you are looking for positive change in your life, I hope that you will reach out. I would love to discuss your personal goals, past experiences, and present struggles with you.
